We, at Student Cover are committed to safeguarding your online privacy and understand the need for appropriate protection of any personal Information you share with us. “Personal Information” refers to any information with which one may identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a home or other physical or virtual address like an email address or other contact information, whether at work or at home. In general, you can visit Student Covers Web pages without telling us who you are or revealing any Personal Information about yourself.

1. Cancellation & Refund Policy Under Indian Health and Travel Insurance Plans:

– Indian Student Health insurance plan
– Travel Pro Insurance plan
– Dental Pro Insurance plan

Above mentioned insurance policy can be cancelled:

1. On the discretion of the facilitator or the insurance company if certain terms are violated.
2. On the request of the customer if certain conditions are met. Following are the concerned conditions:

a. When the Indian health insurance plan is no longer valid for the waiver of the insurance fees of the University from which the insured has got an admit letter.
b. When the customer’s travel plan has been cancelled due to circumstances out of his/her control for e.g due to an international travel ban, concerned visa rejection etc. This is only applicable to Indian insurance plan.

Following are steps involved in case an insured wants a refund due to the cancellation of the insurance plans as per the reason mentioned above:

Step 1: Putting refund request

Insured needs to put an official refund request by sending an email to below email IDs:

a. Student Cover’s generic email ID – info@studentcover.in
b. Respective Student Cover’s representative or contact person’s email ID.

Step 2: Time-frame of refund payment

After the refund request is approved from Student Cover’s end, the refund amount would be processed and aimed to be refunded within 3 weeks of the official refund request.

Step 3: Mode of Refund payment

After the refund request is approved from Student Cover’s end, the refund amount would be processed in the same bank card or bank account from where the payment was made by the insured.

Please note that we have tied up with RBI authorized payment gateways to allow you to make online payments towards your insurance premium amount and is only acting as a mere facilitator and providing assistance to its customers for speedy refunds.

We encourage all our customers to read the insurance policy document and provider’s privacy policy carefully before purchasing any insurance plan.

 

2. Cancellation Policy Under International Insurance

An insurance policy can be cancelled:

  1. On the discretion of the facilitator or the insurance company if certain terms are violated.
  2. On the request of the customer if certain conditions are met. Following are the concerned conditions:
    1. When the insurance policy is no longer valid for the waiver of the insurance fees of the University for which the insurance policy was intended.
    2. When the customer’s travel plan has been cancelled due to circumstances out of his/her control. This is only applicable to Indian insurance plans.

Any refunds of the premium amounts already paid resulting from the cancellation of the insurance policy due to above mentioned circumstances, would be paid according to the Refund policy mentioned under Privacy policy.

3. Refund Policy Under International Insurance

Customers have the right to request for a refund in case of cancellation of the insurance policy under certain conditions, when met. In this case, refund of          the insurance policy premium amount shall be processed as per the applicable process and procedures followed by the respective insurer/insurance company.

In a general scenario, for an international insurance plan a request for refund would be processed within 2 weeks and the refund amount will be processed in the original mode of payment.

For an Indian insurance policy, all refund payment shall be the sole responsibility of the insurer per the rules and regulations laid down by the IRDAI. It has to be understood that we have tied up with RBI authorized payment gateways to allow you to make online payments towards your insurance premium amount and is only acting as a mere facilitator and providing its assistance to its customers for speedy refunds.

5. Third Party advertisements/Promotions

We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads to the users of the website. These companies may use information relating to the Users visits to the Student Cover website in order to provide customized advertisements to the User. Furthermore, the Website may contain links to other websites that may collect personally identifiable information about the User. The Company/Website is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any of the aforementioned linked websites, and the User expressly acknowledges the same and agrees that any and all risks associated will be borne entirely by the User.

 

6. Your Consent

By using this Web site, you consent to the terms of our Online Privacy Policy and to Student Cover processing of Personal Information for the purposes given above as well as those explained where Student Cover collects Personal Information on the Web.

Student Cover will not contact children under age 13 about special offers or for marketing purposes without a parent’s permission.

Student Cover does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people (save with your consent) or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

  • We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with Student Cover under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help Student Cover communicate with you about offers from Student Cover and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.
  • We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
  • We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Student Cover terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

Disclaimer

Student Cover does not store or keep credit card data in a location that is accessible via the Internet.  Student Cover uses the maximum care as is possible to ensure that all or any data/information in respect of electronic transfer of money does not fall in the wrong hands.

Student Cover shall not be liable for any loss or damage sustained by reason of any disclosure (inadvertent or otherwise) of any information concerning the users account and / or information relating to or regarding online transactions using credit cards/debit cards and / or their verification process and particulars nor for any error, omission or inaccuracy with respect to any information so disclosed and used whether or not in pursuance of a legal process or otherwise.
